St George's, Bloomsbury
Begun in 1716 and completed in 1731, this was the last church Hawksmoor designed on his own, and one of several he produced for the Fifty New Churches commission that had appointed him surveyor in 1711. It is the only one of the six to stand west of the City rather than in the river parishes or the East End.
