Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk
The route runs between Onepoto and Hopuruahine landing in Te Urewera, which is no longer a national park, and can be joined at either end. The Department of Conservation describes it as more of a backcountry, off the beaten track experience than the other Great Walks. Huts along it have no gas cooking facilities, no lighting and no toilet paper.
