Pier 62 Skatepark

Fifteen thousand square feet of concrete built out onto the Hudson at Chelsea Piers, inside Hudson River Park, with the river on three sides. Use is restricted to skateboards and rollerblades, so the bikes that dominate several of the city's other plazas are not a factor here. The gate opens at 8AM and closes at dusk, every day, weather permitting; floodlighting is installed but the ground is entered through a turnstile, and the park is not usable by wheelchair.
