Conne Island

An alternative youth culture centre in Connewitz with a large outdoor skatepark on the site, its name a nod to Coney Island. Concerts and disco nights are programmed with artists from the scene around the house, and the venue turns up in international touring listings alongside far larger rooms. Its funding has been publicly precarious: Leipziger Zeitung ran the venue's fight for survival under the headline "When the going gets tough". Step-free throughout, with an accessible toilet.
