Taman Tugu
Twenty-seven hectares of regenerating forest with more than five kilometres of trails, on the ridge that separates Parliament and the Perdana gardens from Dataran Merdeka. The site was a residential area for British and later Malaysian government officers, and under a partnership with the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia over a thousand standing trees have been marked for preservation while indigenous species are raised in on-site nurseries for transplanting. It is owned by the sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional rather than City Hall, and open to the public.
