Mariannenplatz

Schoolchildren, long-standing local players and groups of friends run small informal tournaments on the tables here, and the square carries them without ever reading as a sports ground. Games sit alongside the conversations on the grass and the through traffic of Kreuzberg on foot. New players joining mid-session is the normal pattern rather than an interruption.
