Flughafensee
This is a gravel pit, not a natural lake. It was dug in the 1970s just north of the former Tegel airport and is now Berlin's deepest lake. Swimming is allowed only at designated spots on the west and north shores, and those fill up on sunny weekends. The southwest shore is a fenced bird reserve with three viewing points.
