Amalienbad

Opened on 8 July 1926 as a municipal bathing palace for Favoriten, fitted with ceramics from the Wienerberger works and a hall roof that could be opened electrically in three minutes, which is no longer possible. The Art Nouveau and Art Deco hall is the draw, but the sauna floor is a working one, with guided infusions on a published programme and a combined sauna and pool ticket at 16.60 euros, 13.50 reduced. A centenary exhibition on the bath and bathing policy in Red Vienna runs at the Waschsalon Karl-Marx-Hof from 5 March to 5 September 2026.
