Hôtel Solvay

Commissioned by Armand Solvay, son of the chemist and industrialist Ernest Solvay, and built between 1895 and 1900 with a budget that let Horta design the whole of it, down to the door handles and carpets. It is the largest and most elaborately fitted of the four listed houses, with the Art Nouveau detailing carried continuously from the Avenue Louise facade through to the interiors. It remained a private residence until 2021, when it began admitting the public.
