Triple Bridge
The central span has stood since 1842, when it replaced a medieval wooden bridge on the route linking north-western Europe with the south-east and the Balkans. Plečnik kept that stone bridge and between 1929 and 1932 added a pedestrian bridge on each side of it. The result is three decks side by side, the old one flanked by the new.
