The northeastern link in the ring above the Old City, built on ground bounded by Shu'fat, Beit Hanina and Beit Hanina al-Balad. Jerusalem Story dates it to 1990 and settlement tables to 1995, with a 2019 population of 15,070. It is named in footnote 2 of the EU's January to June 2018 report as one of the East Jerusalem neighbourhoods the Union counts as settlements.
