French Hill, Jerusalem, Israel

Known in Hebrew as Giv'at Shapira, French Hill sits north of the Mount Scopus enclave and northeast of Sheikh Jarrah, and it appears in the EU's 2018 footnote alongside ten other neighbourhoods. Land for its construction and expansion was expropriated to the west and northwest of al-'Isawiyya, which the Jerusalem Story survey describes as besieged on all sides by settlement growth. The settlement tables put its 2019 population at 8,826.
