East Talpiyot, Jerusalem, Israel

Built on ground taken in 1967 on the southern edge of the city, East Talpiyot is the first name in the EU's footnote 2 list of East Jerusalem settlements. Settlement tables record a 2019 population of 15,104; the Jerusalem Story survey of the Inner Ring dates its establishment to 1970 and places it against Sur Bahir, al-Sawahira al-Sharqiyya and Silwan. Israel administers it as a Jerusalem neighbourhood and provides municipal services there.
