Pedrera romana del Mèdol
The limestone for much of Tàrraco came out of this cut, with roughly 50,000 cubic metres estimated as removed. A single pillar of rock, the Agulla del Mèdol, was left standing in the middle of the floor and records the original ground level. The quarry was taken into the Tarraco ensemble when UNESCO inscribed it jointly in 2000, and a hiking guidepost marks the path in.
