Necròpolis paleocristiana de Tarragona
This ground outside the walls first held suburban villas in the late Republican period, and was turned over to burial in the 3rd century, growing into one of the largest Christian cemeteries known in the western Mediterranean. The excavated area covers 1.3 hectares within the World Heritage boundary. The Catalan culture department rehabilitated the site and reopened it to the public in January 2013.
