Cyclone Fantala (2016)
The storm formed on 11 April 2016 to the south of Diego Garcia and intensified east of Madagascar, satellite imagery on 15 April showing a small but well defined eye inside a thick band of rain. Late on 17 April the Météo-France office on Réunion estimated peak ten-minute winds of 250 km/h. Near that peak it passed close to the Farquhar Group of the Seychelles and damaged most of the buildings in the small archipelago.
