Cyclone Ingrid (2005)
Ingrid was a compact but very powerful system that struck northern Australia in March 2005. Its eye, carrying destructive wind gusts up to 220 km/h within a 20 km radius, reached the far northern Queensland coast between 6 and 9 am AEST on 10 March and hit the Cape York Peninsula. Rough seas produced by the cyclone capsized a boat off the coast of Papua New Guinea, killing five of the 13 people aboard.
