Munich's Freibäder, the open-air baths the Stadtwerke run

Munich's municipal open-air baths all answer to the same operator, the same 6,30 € day ticket and the same weather rule: the closing time is set on the forecast, 19:00 in cool weather, an hour or two later when it passes 25°C, and some baths simply do not open below 20°C. What separates them is the water and the furniture, from a 400-metre Isar canal in Thalkirchen to a 50-metre pool in a converted natural bath in Schwabing. Season dates differ too, which matters in September, when most have shut and two are still selling tickets.
