Hurricane Lee (2023)
Lee's winds doubled in under 36 hours, reaching 165 mph by 06:00 UTC on 8 September, an increase of 80 mph in a day, while the storm moved west-northwest around 630 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands. It stayed far enough north of Puerto Rico and the Leeward Islands to avoid direct impacts, and generated surf and rip currents along the entire Atlantic coast of the United States. Later in September it affected Bermuda, the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, with hurricane-force gusts and flooding rain mostly in Maine and Atlantic Canada.
