Waldsiedlung Zehlendorf

Bruno Taut's largest work of the group was built into standing pine woodland between 1926 and 1932, and the trees left between the rows are part of what is protected. The Landesdenkmalamt's case rested on three things you can check from the footpath: the embedding in the existing forest, the emphatic colour, and the flat roofs used throughout. The colour is why locals called it the Papageiensiedlung; the older name, Onkel Toms Hütte, came from the inn that gave the U-Bahn station its name. It became the seventh component of the World Heritage site on 26 July 2026.
