Hard Wax

Opened in November 1989, weeks before the Wall came down, the shop started out in soul, funk and reggae before American import runs turned it into the house and techno counter of record in Berlin. After 27 years on Paul-Lincke-Ufer it left in 2023, when the Kreuzberg building it shared with the cutting house Dubplates & Mastering was slated to become flats, and reopened on the first floor of the Köpenicker Straße complex between Tresor and OHM.
