The Mild Mild West

A teddy bear throwing a Molotov cocktail at three riot police, painted in 1999 as a response to police crackdowns on Bristol's warehouse parties and raves. It is one of the earliest known Banksy pieces and it still occupies the gable end above The Canteen on Stokes Croft, weathered but legible from across the road. The building is residential, which is part of why the wall was never cleaned.
