Lauda Air Flight 004
The Boeing 767-300ER was operating from Hong Kong to Vienna with an intermediate stop in Bangkok when the left engine's thrust reverser deployed uncommanded during climb out from Bangkok International Airport. The aircraft came down in the Dan Chang district of Suphan Buri, some 30 kilometres northwest of Bangkok. Testing during the investigation, in which the airline's founder took part, established that the aircraft could not continue to fly with a reverser deployed.
