Battle of Sheriffmuir
BTL17, fought on the moor above Dunblane in Stirling on 13 November 1715 between Jacobites and Government troops during the rising of that year. The Inventory records the result as inconclusive, both wings of each army having driven back the wing opposite. A note on the map pin: open map data offered a close but not exact match for this place, so the marker may sit slightly off. If it looks wrong, please flag this entry so it can be checked.
