Adams National Historical Park

Two modest saltbox houses stand side by side here: John Adams was born in one, his son John Quincy Adams in the other. The park holds eleven historic buildings spanning four generations of the family, including the Stone Library, and its curator has described the job as keeping the homes, the objects and the landscape from falling apart rather than giving tours. It entered the National Register on 15 October 1966 under the earlier name Adams National Historic Site.
