Igreja de Santo Ildefonso
The church was built between 1709 and 1739, but the tiles on its front came two centuries later: about 11,000 azulejos by Jorge Colaço, put up in November 1932. They show scenes from the life of Saint Ildefonso and allegories of the Eucharist. The building was also hit by artillery fire on 21 July 1833, during the Siege of Porto. Inside is a Baroque and Rococo retable from the first half of the eighteenth century.
