Regent Theatre
Built as a cinema, a picture palace rather than a playhouse, which is why for years the only genuinely good seats were the ones packed into the stalls as close to the stage as possible. Refurbishment has spread the usable sightlines further back through the stalls and dress circle, though the highest rows still depend on the scale of whatever is playing. Marriner-operated, and the house that took Eddie Perfect's Beetlejuice.
