Joburg Theatre
Established in 1962 as the Johannesburg Civic Theatre and rebuilt between 1987 and 1992, the Braamfontein complex now holds four auditoriums, the largest seating 1,069. The City Council turned the association into an independent municipal entity, and the venue took the Joburg Theatre name on 21 January 2009. Since 1 January 2013 it has been run alongside Soweto Theatre and Roodepoort City Theatre as Joburg City Theatres.
