Berks Cemetery Extension

The extension holds 876 First World War burials and also carries the Ploegsteert Memorial to the Missing, whose sculpted lions face the graves from the front of the enclosure. The memorial and the burial plots were laid out as one composition, so the cemetery is read from the road as a single architectural set piece rather than a walled plot.
