40 Wall Street

Completed in 1930 after eleven months of construction as the Bank of Manhattan Trust Building, it held the title of world's tallest for four days before the Chrysler Building's spire went up. Trump bought it with partners, spent a reported $200 million on renovation and renamed it the Trump Building; it was designated a New York City landmark in 1998 and remains entirely commercial, with roughly 1.3 million square feet of office space. Published floor counts differ between 71 and 72, and Trump's own account of the purchase price has ranged from $1 million to a reported $10 million.
