Batterie d'Azeville

One of the inland batteries covering the Cherbourg approaches, paired operationally with Crisbecq a short distance away. Its distinguishing feature is a casemate whose camouflage as an ordinary Norman stone house has been recreated on the concrete, the same deception used along the coast to fool Allied air reconnaissance. The site is presented to visitors by the Manche department and appears in the regional tourism listings.
