Contributing to a collection

Check the collection's own description first, owners often leave notes on what belongs there. Fill in as many custom fields as you can. The more complete a location is, the more useful the collection stays for everyone.

Drop a pin, or let your browser suggest one from your location if you've allowed it. Write a short, honest description, add tags, pick a category if the collection uses one. Attach up to ten photos: any location data embedded in them gets stripped automatically once uploaded, so photos straight from your phone are fine.

If a collection is open, you can add a location without signing up. You'll be asked to pass a quick captcha first.

On collections where locations go live at once, yours shows up right away. On curated ones, it waits as pending until an owner or editor reviews it. If you were signed in when you added it, the outcome lands in your notifications either way, and a rejection brings the reviewer's reason with it.

If you're signed in, you can edit or delete your own locations anytime. If a collection tracks status, keep that updated too. It's what makes the map actually useful instead of just accurate on the day it was made.
