Torre dell'Orologio
Built between 1496 and 1499 to a design by Mauro Codussi for the Senate of the Serenissima, the tower was inaugurated on 1 February 1499 and stands 24 metres over the entrance to the Mercerie. The dial reads both the hours and the signs of the zodiac, and the civic clock tower is open to the public as a museum under the Fondazione Musei Civici.
