Sanssouci
Sanssouci stands in the 289-hectare park that carries its name, one of the holdings written into the inventory when the state treaty creating the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg came into force on 1 January 1995. That foundation was an amalgamation of two administrations the division of Germany had split apart: the Potsdam-Sanssouci state palaces and gardens in the East and the state palaces and gardens administration in West Berlin. UNESCO listed the wider park landscape, running from Sanssouci through the New Garden and Sacrow to Pfaueninsel and Glienicke in Berlin, in 1990. The foundation counts the palace among the major palace museums of the Sanssouci gardens, which are open to the public on a regular basis.
